How þe kyng is borne of a quene.
Secundus Rex

But yf I slepe I am adrede

In goode tyme 3e dede down drepe
To take yowr rest.
Herowdys, to Je devyl he tryste
To marre 3ow in a myrke myste.

To glathe 3ow for his geste.
And þerfore, kyngys, whan 3e ryse,307
Wendyth forth be weys wyse

In dyverse londe.

He xal 3ow saue from all shendynge313
With his ryght honde.

Tunc surgant reges, et dicat Primus Rex:

[Primus Rex]
A bryght sterre ledde us into Bedleem;315
A bryghtere thynge I saw in drem,
Bryghtere than þe sunnebeem;
An aungell I saw ryght here.

From Herowdys Kynge he gan vs kalle.
He taught us hom tyll oure halle321
A wey by another mere.
Secundus Rex

To wendyn home.
God, ful of myght,

Tercius Rex
Oure God I blysse.329
He sent us, iwys,

Now we wake

Home full ryght.
